Salary : £64,953 (pay award pending)
Do you have proven experience of leading a professional team to deliver major residential and commercial development projects to enhance towns and town centres and promote economic development and investment for business growth?
Our role involves all of this and much more. This is an exciting opportunity to work on active and interesting projects, in a location with a range of challenges and opportunities across a geographical area.
You will manage the delivery of the Council’s Economic Strategy through innovation and major economic growth initiatives; business engagement; and creating investment and business growth opportunities throughout the Borough whilst maximising the financial returns of Council assets.
You will ensure that the future economic growth in the borough benefits of all our local people and you will therefore work in an inclusive way with our partners and communities. In addition, you will drive the enhancement our Town Centres, and promote recovery in a post Covid-19 environment, supporting businesses, residents and visitors.
For this demanding role you will need to be ambitious, determined and commercially focused, with high level interpersonal skills for working closely with elected Members, for building strategic relationships with the LEP, government agencies and the private sector to develop and achieve economic prosperity for the Borough.

Head of Neighbourhood Services
Salary : £64,953 (pay award pending)
Do you have proven experience of working collaboratively with colleagues and partners to deliver high quality services and projects that enable our residents to live more active, healthy and fulfilling lives, and feel safe and supported in their communities?
In this role, you will be responsible for a range of neighbourhood-based services including Community Wardens, Libraries and Leisure Services. Our leisure services are commissioned through Everybody Sport and Recreation, a leisure trust established by the Council. You will be responsible for delivery of the Council’s leisure centre improvement programme. You will also initiate and lead collaborative projects, with internal and external partners, to deliver opportunities within our towns and neighbourhoods.
For this role, you will need to have a proven ability to build and sustain strong and effective relationships with a wide range of partners and stakeholders. You will have strong financial and commercial awareness, and an aptitude for developing innovative and resilient solutions to complex problems. You will have a proven track record for leading teams, focused on delivering change and improvement across partnerships and organisation boundaries. You will have experience of developing strategies and policies to achieve strategic outcomes and fulfil statutory obligations. You will have experience of leading complex and innovative projects from business case, through design and delivery, to benefits realisation. You will need to be determined, able to prioritise, manage risks, and demonstrate perseverance to achieve objectives.

Your work will involve leading and developing Revenues, Benefits, Online Services and the Customer Contact Centre to meet quality, financial and performance targets. A successful senior manager who has led and improved services, you can lead teams to deliver change in line with budgets and timescales. You’re not afraid to think innovatively to achieve your objectives, and you know that transformation depends on collaboration with other teams and partners. Crucially, you also know about best practice in customer service and emerging trends, and you’re aware of how service propositions affect local people and businesses. With this expertise, plus sensitivity where income collection’s concerned, you’ll be a degree-educated professional who can create a positive, inspiring culture that puts the customer experience front and central.
